Andrew Manson is a talented Scottish bagpiper who frequently performs at music events in Portugal. He is notably associated with the international music and blues festivals held in Alcoutim, a town in the eastern Algarve region situated along the Guadiana River.
Andrew arrives in traditional Guadiana style aboard his catamaran ‘Gypsy’ which he lives aboard, and can sometimes be spotted practicing on the quayside or on the deck of Gypsy in preparation for  leading the musical procession that guides festival-goers from the beach bar stage down to the main quay (Cais de Alcoutim), setting off the evening celebrations.
In addition to his regular festival appearances in Alcoutim, he also performs at other folk events across the country.
