God’s Children

David Nathan

Once upon a time, we danced together to celebrate the Beauty and Colours of the Rainbow.

One day, someone said the Red of the Rainbow was the most beautiful colour. Another said Green was more pleasing. A third insisted that Blue was the best colour.

They got into arguments over the Colours of the Rainbow.

They stopped dancing together to celebrate the Beauty and Colours of the Rainbow.

They shouted and hit each other!

Fighting like children do.

Groups separated, ran to hide behind high walls, and created weapons.

They started waving flags with their colours and killing neighbours to the beat of marching bands.

How did we forget that we used to dance together to celebrate the Beauty and Colours of the Rainbow?
