Come join us for a weekend of fun and celebration

The 6th Guadiana International Music Festival is happening on October 19th to 21st on both sides of the River Guadiana between Alcoutim and San Lucar de Guadiana.

Bigger and better than ever, enjoy an eclectic mix of music genres including Blues, Folk, Jazz, Fado, Flamenco and much more. Truly international with venues on both sides of the river. Take your pick: Sun Lucar, Spain in the afternoon, Alcoutim, Portugal in the evening. Can’t decide, no problem, flit between the two within minutes, using the the ferry.

Swedish Choir

We are 19 members, a choir in the Swedish church, Jörlanda, in the countryside at the westcoast of Sweden. We sing in the church about 8-9 times a year. The choir started about 70 years ago. Some members have sung in the choir for over 40 years.

Our recent leader took over in 2015 after Annika Rydberg, now staying in Alcoutim.

O “Trovador do Guadiana” is based on a musician’s original project connected to Alcoutim. Their themes are inspired in the Algarve of legends, visions, enchanted moors. One of the Troubadour’s aim is to give voice to poets and he looks in the lyrics for a sense and an objective for his music.

This trip comes from the open sea, which invades the land through Guadiana river between Alentejo and Andaluzia inside an Algarve lost among Cistus hills. Let’s celebrate this “eternally bridal land crowned by the perfume of the orange tree blossom”.

Our repertoire consists of original songs written by João, embellished by Teresa’s voice and enriched by Norberto’s exquisite sounds. Many of them were written and worked out in Alcoutim where we get our inspiration and “feel the dreams flying slowly…”

Fish of a Feather are an acoustic group based in Sanlúcar de Guadiana and have been playing together for many years. Their intimate, crafted music consists of original songs with British folk and country music influences.
