Start with a character. Don't overdevelop them, it's a short story, so the quicker into the reader's mind the better.
Perhaps there's a hatred for someone, murder in the air. Maybe your protagonist is a really nice person, but is deceived cheated on, is the victim seeking revenge.
Start writing, the plot will unfold as the character develops, have fun.

Write about a person or place from your past. First, write as the person you were then. Then, write as the reflective student of life you are now.
