Arthur Hyde

Learning guitar whilst at sea as a merchant seaman in the 1960’s I have written and played my own songs over the last fifty years in folk clubs, open mics, busked some choice locations, played festivals and sang for HM Queen Elizabeth in 2011 when she visited Hereford on the occasion of her diamond jubilee.
In 1971 I spent six weeks living on site at Worthy Farm at Glastonbury at the first Glastonbury Fayre helping to build the first pyramid stage, digging the toilets (very rudimentary) and banging a drum in Michael Eavis’s kitchen.
I recorded my first album of my own work in 2019 entitled The heights of heaven currently available on bandcamp.
I regularly play wherever seems appropriate and am looking forward to playing at the Alcoutim festival where I hope people will like what I sing.

Trovador Guadiana

Trovador do Guadiana

O “Trovador do Guadiana” is based on a musician’s original project connected to Alcoutim. Their themes are inspired by the Algarve of legends, iisions, and enchanted moors. One of Troubadour’s aims is to give voice to poets and he looks in the lyrics for a sense and an objective for his music.

Our repertoire consists of original songs written by João, embellished by Teresa’s voice and enriched by Norberto’s exquisite sounds. Many of them were written and worked out in Alcoutim where we get our inspiration and “feel the dreams flying slowly…”
